Rock Solid Foundation

Well ok then....2nd comic of 2017 in the books.  It's been quite a while since I did pretty much a solo Rarity and Pinkie comic.  I think the last one I did of this type was when episode 13 of S6 came out and I needed a comic for the 2 of them.  I can't exactly where I got the idea for this comic but I know it was something about the beginning of the Gauntlet of Fire EP with the caves and stuff.  I always find it weird how such a weird and stupid out of place scene can give me an idea on a weird comic like this.    I almost thought about making this into a Derpy comic but that wouldn't make as much sense as for Pinkie who knows rocks and crap.  Muffin is in this.


Now I will say this....it's been a while since I did anything with filly Pinkie.  It's a shame cause her comics are usually such a blast to make but coming up with the right ideas for her, especially Fluttershy, are especially hard.  I am not sure why it's the case with those 2 but I am kind of thinking it's just the back story on the 2 of them is a little harder for me to put into filly comics mixing in their personalities.  In a sense I Derpy most of the time makes sense than Pinkie and plus I like to make Derpy a whole hell of a lot more and dumb comics with her.    This actually I believe also was the first crack I ever got at making caves and stuff.  Actually no I did do the cave one in the Maud and Pinkie comic about a year and a half ago but that one was more crystals and stuff.  I guess a cave but this one was hard as hell in a way to make cause it was a matter of depthing up the cave.  I usually like doing that in comics but this one there was so much to stuff I needed to add in this it got a little time consuming.  It's not bad for a first true attempted at a more true cave BG.  Better learn this now in case I need it in the future. 


Ok so that will be it for me on this comic.  Fairly big comic in a way but I can be happy on it.  IDK why some of the ponies are a tick off on this but I think it was just the evening I was having with the lineart that night one seems off and the 2nd night on the next lineart batch I was in more of a groove.    That does happen.  Now....next......why not a break from the anthros and put out the 1st Wereluna pic of 2017.  I like that idea.
