Time spent: 26 hours over 5 days How I did it: Paper + Photoshop CS5
PLEASE don't steal this. Remember to link this back to me if you put this on a site or something.
Vision: Perfect drawing choice, but i expected Twilight to put the sunglasses on with magic, which makes alot more sense since she would originally do that. And im wondering why twilight started moving right while talking since the background was moving from panels 4-5. Great, but could've been better.
Origin: This joke got very overused too much. Although its very humorous, its been used atleast a hundred times. And the big muscly pony saying YEAHHHHHHHHHHH is very original too since he is ALWAYS saying that.
Great comic. (P.S, Where did the big muscly guy even come from? OH MAH GOD)
Humor: I think it would've been funnier to have Twilight complete the joke instead of Snowflake. He's too obvious a choice, and ruins what could've been another adorkable moment for Twilight. It's her being an egghead that would've given the joke a nice variation, since I'd expect someone cooler like Rainbow or Pinkie to do it. Also, the premise is a bit forced. Why does Rainbow go to Twilight for help? A simple added line like, "I need you to help me find the culprit/look for clues/solve the mystery" would've explained everything; you don't want people to focus on the wrong details.
Perspective: I also agree with the previous critique that the background is too distracting. I read it expecting something to happen from out of frame, and so Snowflake's appearance was less surprising to me. I think a back-and-forth angled view of their faces mixed in would've been better than a side view the whole time. The wider view should be saved for the end. The panel layout is fine and works well for reading while scrolling down.

I was reading the critiques, and i thought the first one's comment about that joke being overused, is irrelevant. It's funny BECAUSE that joke is overused; it's a meme. It's SUPPOSED to be overused. I thought it was clever using the YEAH pony because all the comics I've seen that use the CSI: NY joke put the original NY background and just type "YEAAAAAAAAAAAH" across the top. That's not very creative. But the use of snowflake is. And the ponies have to at least do this joke once. I thought it was well done.
